Things you can do today to reduce wrinkles & laxity!

Did you know that skin dehydration is one of the leading causes of wrinkles and laxity? When your skin is dehydrated, it loses its elasticity and becomes more prone to sagging and wrinkling. Dehydration can also make your skin look dull and tired.

There are a number of factors that can contribute to skin dehydration, including:

  • Not drinking enough water
  • Dry weather
  • Hot showers and baths
  • Certain medications
  • Skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis

If you are concerned about skin dehydration, there are a few things you can do to prevent it:

  • Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Aim for at least eight glasses of water per day.
  • Use a moisturizer that is appropriate for your skin type.
  • Avoid hot showers and baths. Instead, opt for warm water.
  • Apply a moisturizer to your skin immediately after bathing or showering.
  • Avoid using harsh soaps and cleansers.
  • Use a humidifier in your home during the winter months.

If you have already developed wrinkles or laxity due to skin dehydration, there are a number of treatments that can help, such as:

  • Laser skin resurfacing
  • Chemical peels
  • Microdermabrasion
  • RF Microneedling

However, before you consider any of these treatments, it is important to make sure that your skin is properly hydrated. Dehydrated skin will not respond as well to these treatments, and the results may be less than satisfactory.
